Our Story
A Family Kitchen on Highway 281
Tucked along US-281 in Spring Branch, El Rodeo De Jalisco has been a Hill Country staple for more than two decades. What started as a small family kitchen has grown into a neighborhood favorite — but the recipes, and the family running the register, haven't changed a bit. Regulars will tell you they still ask for Mrs. Maria by name.
Every tortilla here is made fresh in house, rolled and pressed the same way the family has done it for generations. It's the small things — the thick, tender flour tortillas, the slow-simmered carne guisada, the salsa verde that's mild on the plate and bold in the bottle — that keep families driving back week after week for the fajitas, breakfast tacos, and Sunday plates.
Whether you're pulling up to the drive-thru window on a busy morning for breakfast tacos or settling in at a table under the wood-beam ceiling for a Texas plate and a basket of fresh chips, El Rodeo De Jalisco cooks the same way it has since day one: generous portions, honest prices, and a whole lot of heart.

“I have been going to this Mexican restaurant 20+ years and my family loves it! The prices and food quality are amazing! I have never found better flour tortillas. Their fajitas and breakfast tacos are my go-tos. Definitely come check them out! Love Mrs. Maria!”
“Adorable little Mexican restaurant with good food… the flour and corn tortillas are both made fresh in house. The chicken enchiladas verdes were good, the chicken was very moist. The Texas plate with carne guisada was perfect! Kids loved the huge flautas.”
“Wonderful hidden gem for authentic Mexican cuisine. They have the best homemade fresh gorditas that we have ever had.”
“Went for breakfast tacos. The tortillas were so thick I had trouble eating two of them. They were stuffed and the verde sauce was spicy and delicious. Drive up is the most popular way of getting food.”
“Great food! Delicious! Great service, great prices, big portions. Family owned and managed. We get to go weekly.”
